I have been crafting up a storm the last few days! Again, mostly for Christmas presents, so I can't post pictures. Darn!
This morning, one of my students from a couple of years ago came and hung out with me while his dad went to a meeting. I asked what he wanted to do, watch a Christmas movie, play a game or do some crafts? He knows me well, so he picked do some crafts. He and I went to my craft room and looked around. We settled on getting out the watercolor colored pencils and playing with those. Before we got started, I had him watch a Youtube video on what watercolor colored pencils were. He said he had never used them before. He thought they looked fun from the video so we got started playing. The first page we did was just random drawings to see how they worked. I am an avid stamper, so the next thing we did was get out some stamps and made a full page picture with the stamps. He then colored in the pictures. He chose a Halloween stamp set, so he ended up with a very spooky picture when he was done with the water. For his last page, he drew a picture of a house and we both used the pencils on it. He did not want to add the water to it. We had a lot of fun together.
When Jax left, I called my friend Cindy because she had a project she wanted to work on. It is a Christmas gift, so I don't want to give out too many details. We designed a layout for a phrase from the bible to be cut in vinyl and applied to the wall. We used regular vinyl and glitter vinyl. I hope the person receiving this gift loves it as much as Cindy and I did when we were finished.
The last project I completed today was name cards for flowers for the altar at church. There will be memorial poinsettias in the windows and on the altar Christmas day for mass. We wanted people to know who each flower was in memory of, so I made some simple name cards. I printed out the names on Whisper White Stampin Up cardstock. I then mounted that onto Basic Black cardstock and Real Read cardstock. I love Stampin Up colors. Reds are so hard to find a good one, but Stampin Up has done it. Here is what the cards look like.
I am curious if anyone is reading this blog yet. Please post a comment so I know if anyone is out there! Ha Ha!
